Alaska Airlines Cancellation Policy

Alaska Airlines Cancellation Policy

Alaska Airlines offers a flexible cancellation policy to accommodate travelers' changing plans. Understanding the nuances of this policy can help passengers manage their bookings effectively.

24-Hour Cancellation Policy

Passengers can cancel any ticket within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund, provided the booking was made at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure. This applies to all fare types, including non-refundable Saver fares.

Main and First Class Fares

As of May 1, 2021, Alaska Airlines eliminated change and cancellation fees for Main and First Class fares. Passengers can modify or cancel these bookings without incurring additional charges, though fare differences may apply.

Saver Fares

Saver fares are more restrictive. While they can be canceled within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund, changes are not permitted outside this window. However, for tickets purchased on or after July 19, 2023, passengers may receive a 50% credit if the cancellation occurs at least 14 days before departure.

No-Show Policy

If a passenger fails to cancel or change their reservation before the flight's departure, the ticket's value, including any associated miles, will be forfeited. It's essential to make changes in advance to retain the ticket's value.
